Jason Group expands to national footprint

Published 04 October 2021

EXBO congratulates its parent company, Jason Group, for completing the acquisition of Melbourne based business, Artcraft, who has additional operations in Adelaide, Sydney, Brisbane and Townsville.

The Jason Group has expanded its WA based portfolio of signage businesses to national status with its latest acquisition of Melbourne based business, Artcraft, who has additional operations in Adelaide, Sydney, Brisbane and Townsville.

This acquisition is a significant move for the Jason Group of companies which has been growing its portfolio actively over the past few years. Since 2019 the Group grew its original business, the well-established Jason Signmakers, to make key acquisitions of other WA based business in the print, signage and digital signage sectors. These included Expo Signage and Digital and Bokay Signage (now merged to EXBO), A.D. Engineering International (digital signage and technology company) and a Joint Venture, majority Aboriginal owned business, Sista Girl Sign & Print.

Jason Group’s Managing Director, John Mancini, said, “our previous acquisitions have focused on widening our capability across our products and services and extending our WA customer base. The next logical step in our growth journey was to look to at how we can better support our customers on a national level, which is why Artcraft is such a highly strategic addition to the Jason Group”

“Bringing together market leaders in our industry from the West and the East allows us to have different engagement with our major national clients. This includes improved operational efficiencies and innovation in both lean manufacturing practices and product range that can be offered across the country.

Jason Signmakers is a well known name as WA leaders in traffic signage and road infrastructure projects. In fact our first project was the signage for the Kwinana Freeway back in 1959. Similarly, Artcraft has established its dominance in the industry since it was established in Melbourne in 1974, growing its operations into Sydney, Brisbane, Townsville and Adelaide. Bringing these two businesses together will allow us to better support national civil construction clients to achieve high quality, consistent signage outcomes with 18,000 sqm of manufacturing facilities across 5 sites across Australia.

This deal is truly going to transform our Group, which will see combined revenues circa 70m. Not only will it benefit our customers but it will also mean we are arguably the largest provider of employment in our industry nationally, with a headcount of some 260 permanent staff.”

John Mancini, who became Managing Director of Jason Signmakers in 2017, has been appointed Group Managing Director of Artcraft with the deal finalising on 1 October.
